46 Star Flag with Unusual Star Pattern

Forty-Six Star American parade flag is made of cotton fabric and is beautifully aged for its Period. It displays a striking 8-7-8-8-7-8 star pattern and the original 7 ¾ ” wooden Staff is still attached and exhibits a lovely patina finish.

Parade flags, such as this one, are typically small in scale and customarily used at parades, celebrations, rallies, and inaugurations.
On November 16, 1907 Oklahoma was the Forty-Sixth State to enter into the Union. It became official July 4th 1908 and remained so until July 4, 1912 with the inclusion of New Mexico and Arizona which brought the Star count to Forty-Eight.

Description/Condition:
Flag size 4 ¼ ”x 7”, made of cotton fabric with a beautiful aged appearance that gives the flag an historical aura. It is in very good condition with no visible holes or tears but does have slight staining throughout. The Forty-Eight Stars are printed in a strategically arranged pattern, which would have easily allowed a manufacturer the space for additional stars to be added as new states joined the Union in the future. The original 7 ¾ ” wooden Staff remains attached however it appears the bottom may have had a small portion broken off. The flag is pressure mounted on a pre-washed 100% black linen fabric and it is all showcased by a handsome 13”x16”hard wood frame, likely cherrywood.
