Thirty-Eight Star American National Parade Flag, Colorado Statehood 1876-1889

In 1876 the official Star count was thirty-seven, however, flag makers were commonly producing flags with additional stars before they became official July 4th on the following year of their inception into the Union. For this reason the 38 Star Flags were commonly seen throughout the Country’s Centennial Celebration July 4, 1876, prior to its official installation on July 4, 1877. By and large 38 Star Flags were used until 1889, when four new states joined the Union.
