44 STAR AMERICAN PARADE FLAG
HOURGLASS PATTERN
WYOMING STATEHOOD,1890-1896

American National Parade Flag displays 44 stars printed in a folksy manner configured in rows of 8-7-7-7-7-8 on coarse cotton, arranged in a desirable “hourglass” pattern. The hourglass on this flag has a great curved shape more pronounced than many I’ve come across.

Wyoming was admitted to the Union July 10, 1890, became official July 4, 1891, and remained the official star count for 5 more years. Presidents to serve under the 44 Star flag included Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison.

The flag is in good condition, colors are crisp, some staining throughout, several areas of wrinkling, slight fraying on edges; flag is pressure mounted to prewashed oatmeal color 100% cotton on an acid free backboard encased in a beautiful vintage wood frame finished in an antique gold color paint.
