Votes for Women: 1915. Drink to the Success of the Empire State Campaign 303 5th Ave., New York: Empire State Campaign Committee, 1915. Folded paper drinking cup, blue ink on tan paper, conical shape

This paper cup, printed for the unsuccessful 1915 campaign to add a women's suffrage amendment to the New York State constitution, exhorts its bearers to "Drink to the Success" of this effort to gain the vote for women. It is illustrated with a striking image of a rising sun bearing the year of the campaign. Thanks to the political will this campaign helped to foster, New York granted women the right to vote just two years later, in 1917.
